Supporting Light Project Peterborough with Chair Donations
At Walters, we believe in the power of giving back to our community. We are excited to share the news of our recent partnership with Light Project Peterborough, a local charity whose vision is to enable and equip the church and community to heal the broken-hearted, set free the oppressed, and bring good news to the poor.
Following a recent request from the Light Project Peterborough, Jason, Jason and Jamie from the Walters Interiors team delivered twelve office chairs to replace the broken ones used by some of the charity’s staff and volunteers.
Strengthening Community Support with Light Project Peterborough
Light Project Peterborough has been a beacon of hope in the Peterborough community since 2009. Their initiatives, such as Winter Night Shelters and support during the Covid-19 “Everyone In” campaign, have demonstrated their unwavering dedication to serving those in need. The charity has shown remarkable adaptability and responsiveness to the community’s pressing needs, working alongside Multi-Agency Community Support Teams and other partners.
At Walters, we were delighted to collaborate with Light Project Peterborough, sharing a mutual vision for creating lasting change within our community. Our donation of twelve chairs will directly enhance the facilities and resources available to Light Project Peterborough. These chairs will provide comfort and support to individuals seeking assistance, ensuring a welcoming environment for those who may have faced hardship and challenges.
Jason Mold, Office Interiors Manager, Walters, comments, “The timing couldn’t be better for the Light Project Peterborough to reach out to us for support with a donation of office chairs, as we had just received a number of great condition chairs back from an office refit that was to be sent to recycling…. Instead, we were able to reuse (the ultimate sustainable option) and assist a great charity in the city centre!…. and in their colour too!”
Paddy Berryman, Services Manager, Light Project Peterborough, expressed their gratitude and continued, “A ‘wheely’ big thank you to Walters Limited for donating 12 office chairs for The Garden House! These will be much appreciated by our staff and partner agencies who visit us.”
Building a Better Peterborough, Together
After speaking with Paddy and Stuart at the Light Project, the team learnt that the chairs would be a practical and meaningful addition, enabling a safe and comfortable space for counselling sessions, support group meetings, and other essential activities. A nurturing environment fosters resilience and empowers individuals to overcome adversity.
